  1. Resume of Mission: Results unobserved to good.  Fighter escort provided by 50 P-47s and P-51s from landfall to land's end.  A/C bombed Primary Radar Target.  Nine E/A sighted did not attack.  Flak was heavy, meager to intense, accurate to inaccurate and damaged 29 B-29s.  Thirty-three A/C sighted the Target and 37 by radar.  Five A/C were non-effective.  Eight B-29s landed at Iwo Jima.  Average bomb load: 9,646 lbs. Average fuel reserve: 845 gallons.
