Resume of Mission: Strike photos showed bombing results were poor.  All bombs off airfield in southwest revetment area.  One burst caused a small explosion near a group of trees about 1500 feet west of the southwest corner of the field.  Some craters were filled and others visible along edge of runway.  Several S/E A/C visible, plus 34 S/E dummies.  Enemy Air Opposition consisted of 40 E/A sighted and had 20 attacks.  Enemy aircraft destroyed:  none, probably destroyed 1 and 4 damaged.  A/A heavy, meager and inaccurate.  One aircraft landed at Iwo Jima.  Average bomb loads: 11,478 lbs.  Average fuel reserve 776 gallons.
